De Original Game Shot bounces back with win over Triple Vision

De Original Game Shot (DOGS) bounced back from their match day one defeat to trounce newly promoted Triple Vision 9-1, in A division action of the National Mixed Format League of Darts at Kosmos Club, Port-of-Spain on Tuesday (January 27). The Triple Vision team would have been flying high after a winning start on the opening day but they were immediately grounded by the reigning champions in what was a clinical and ruthless display of darting talent. The result sees DOGS at the top of the tree by one point. E-Z Lines made it two in two after overcoming Jus For Fun 6-4. E-Z lines were cruising at 4-2 and were able to survive a late Vikings surge to secure a vital victory, which puts them in second place. Drifters remain unbeaten after defeating Scorpions 6-4 in what was a great contest as both teams went hard for the victory. It was 2-2 going into the singles rounds. Hector Alzola of Scorpions took the first scalp, Scott Mannette of Drifters pulled one back for 3-3. Captain of Scorpions Sheraz Rasool restored the lead to 4-3 but Drifters had enough in the tank to win the three remaining legs to secure a vital victory to keep their title hopes alive. In the B division, Flighted Friends continued to soar as they faced newly promoted Reckless. They raced to a 2-0 lead early on, but Reckless pulled one back and looked poised to mount a comeback. Reckless’ hopes were dashed, however, as Flighted Friends won the remaining seven legs to win 9-1, keeping them safe and secure at the top. Westerly Pirates are up to second after a commanding 7-3 victory over Jus For Fun Snipers. The Pirates didn’t have the best start to the season, but bounced back on match-day two and were in full control of the contest, leading at every stage to secure their first victory of the season. Bullz I are now in third place after defeating Shanghai Bulls 6-4 in what was a tightly contested affair. Bullz I was able to hold on for victory despite a spirited display from Shanghai Bulls. Game Shot continued their dominance of the C division after another 10/10 performance, brushing past Shooters 10-0. It was all Game Shot from the offing, as Shooters had no reply and were just swept away in what was now back-to-back 10-0 wins for Game Shot. Bulldogs remain in second place after defeating QPCC Howz-Dart 7-3. Bulldogs were up 3-1, then progressed to 6-1, QPCC were able to pull two legs back but the damage was already done. Pleterzzz remain in third place despite losing to Seas wolves 6-4. Pelterzzz started the encounter brightly, leading 3-1 at one stage, but Sea Wolves were too hot to handle in the singles round, mounting a brilliant comeback to win the contest. Match-day three was scheduled for Tuesday (February 3) at Kosmos Club in both A and B division teams in action, while the C division was on a bye.
