Lecturer robbed at gunpoint in Penal home

A 28-year-old lecturer was robbed by armed bandits at her home in San Francique, Penal, during the early hours of Tuesday. Police said around 2 a.m., the woman was asleep when she was awakened by movement in another room. She later saw four Spanish-speaking men enter her bedroom, armed with two firearms and two cutlasses, and wearing gloves. The suspects robbed her of cash and jewellery before fleeing into a nearby bushy area after one shouted, “Police outside.” Responding officers chased the men but they escaped. A rusty shotgun and 12-gauge ammunition were later recovered.
