Moruga man held with cannabis in SWD exercise

One man was arrested and a quantity of cannabis seized during an anti-crime exercise in the South Western Division yesterday. Officers of the SWD Emergency Response Patrol were conducting traffic operations around 11:50 am on Saturday 21 March 2026 in the Penal district when they stopped and searched a red Toyota Corolla with a lone male occupant. The search led to the discovery of seven packets of cannabis weighing a total of 1.82 kilogrammes. The 41-year-old suspect, of Moruga, was arrested in connection with the find.
