National Petroleum has donated $24,414 to the Children’s Life Fund to assist children with life-limiting illnesses. The cheque was presented on Tuesday during a ceremony at National Petroleum’s office in Port of Spain. Officials of National Petroleum handed over the donation to Chairman Dr Kevon Dindial of the Children’s Life Fund Authority. Chairman Dr Kevon Dindial said the collaboration between National Petroleum and the Children’s Life Fund Authority shows what can happen when organisations work together in support of children and families. Dindial said the contribution will affect the children and families served by the fund. The Children’s Life Fund provides financial assistance to families of children with life-limiting illnesses. The fund supports access to treatment and other services required for care. Children assisted by the fund include those with cardiac conditions and cancer. Some cases require treatment and interventions abroad. The cost of treatment places pressure on families. The fund provides financial support to families who are unable to meet the cost of medical care. According to the Children’s Life Fund Authority, its intervention allows families to access treatment that may otherwise be out of reach. The donation from National Petroleum will go toward supporting the operations of the Children’s Life Fund and the assistance provided to eligible families across Trinidad and Tobago.
